The river road from Bourke to Louth is sealed in only a few random spots, it’s not bad however and is almost always trafficable. As you enter the village of Louth you will see a corrugated iron church with a well maintained lawn but no air conditioning, a cricket ground with a shady bar but no grass or ground cover and a local hotel overlooking the Darling, though I doubt they sell much water. This is where our story begins.

River Roads

Dirt track
Old mates
Mail box
Bent gates
Hot sun
Dust floats
Cool river
Paddle boats
Small school
No class
Cricket ground
No grass
Tin church
Cut lawn
Old graves
New born

Driving down the river towns,
Take your time and think
Rich fella, poor fella
Everybody got to drink
We all go down to the life giver
Different people one river

Cold beer
Back slap
Bush style
Mud map
Red gum
Coolabah
Red Roo
Bull bar
Fish swim
Upstream
Fence lines
White dream
Hands join
Walls fall
Small town
Knows all

Driving down the river towns,
Take your time and think
Young fella, Old fella
Everybody got to drink
We all go down to the life giver
Different people one river

Old trees
Wind blows
Bough breaks
River flows
Sweet water
Runs deep
River banks
Too steep
Car wheel
Stair case
Young man
Old face
Unwind
Unload
Next day
River road

Driving down the river towns,
Take your time and think
black fella, white fella
Everybody got to drink
We all go down to the life giver
Different people one river
